Nitai Is That Lord We Always Wanted!

Nitai knows the distress of all living entities. He resides in the hearts of all living entities as the Supersoul. He is the witness of all our ups and downs. He is with us when we are in extreme pain. dayāra thākura nitā-i para dukha jāne.
It is true that Nitai forgives all sins and ignores all our fall downs due to sensual temptations. He is the only Lord who unconditionally forgives us for our lust, anger, greed, pride, envy, and illusory attachments. He does not punish us for anything because He knows we are already suffering a lot in this material world. We do not need someone who is ready to inflict more punishment upon us. We need someone who can forgive us for our habitual faults. Since time immemorial we are habituated to lust, anger, greed, pride, envy, and attachments. How can we give them up at once? We realize they are wrong. But we need time and mercy to overcome them. As we endeavor to overcome them, we may also fail sometimes. And when we fail, we need an optimistic smile, a hope, that next time we may succeed. We do not want a Lord who discourages us by punishing us for failing to improve. We need someone who can acknowledge that at least we are trying to improve. Nitai is the only Lord who is ready to encourage us for our tiniest efforts and wait for us to improve even after thousands and millions of fall downs. His eternal forgiveness is His mercy. His affectionate and painless removal of our anarthas is His mercy. His non-discrimination policy is His mercy. His eagerness to save us is His mercy.
Shrila Vrindavan das Thakur mentions that it is Nitai who appealed to Gaur on our behalf to devise a method by which we all can be delivered in this dark age of Kali.

aye bhratar nrinam kali-kalushinam kim nu bhavita

tatha prayashcitam racaya yad anayasata ime

vrajanti tvam-ittham saha bhagavata mantrayati yo

bhaje nityanandam bhajana-taru-kandam niravadhi

I perpetually worship Shri Nityananda Prabhu, the root of the krishna-bhakti tree, who
said to Shri Krishna Chaitanya, “O brother Gauranga! What will be the destination of the

sinful souls of Kali-yuga and how will they be redeemed? Please devise a method by

which they will easily attain You.” (Verse 4, Nityanandashtakam)

Nitai really worries for all of us offensive souls that is why He appeals to Gaur on our behalf. Where will you find such a Lord in this entire creation? Who can avoid the worship of such a Lord? Even if someone says that I will not obtain Radha-Krishna if I will focus too much on Nitai, I will continue to do that till my last breath. As they say, a friend in need is a friend indeed. Joy Nitai.
