If you know the unique position of Nitai then you are indeed very fortunate. In fact, you are one of the most fortunate persons of this entire creation. Those who have huge bank balances, uncountable assets, an extremely beautiful spouse, high level of education, and the most loving family, are indeed fortunate. But their fortune stands nowhere in front of a person who simply knows Nitai. You don’t know how many lives of sukriti is required to simply become aware of Nitai. You must celebrate this fact daily that out of great good fortune you have come to the platform of worshipping Nitai as God. Yes this is such a special achievement that you can celebrate it daily till the end of your life.
Nitai Vayulekhan is a kind of celebration for the soul as finally its search for the best God in the entire creation is over. We raise our hand and write निताइ in the air to celebrate the fact that we have finally got a Lord who so convincingly says, “I’m all yours”. With the very first syllable, Nitai shows us that He is so keen to give away Himself to us. We must never take our hard-earned faith in Nitai lightly. It is the wealth which we have acquired as a result of spiritual piety in millions of lives. The most distant destination of Golok looks very close when Nitai joins us in our spiritual journey. When we have such a lovely companion with us during our journey then we don’t even care how far the destination is. As we are able to relish the journey itself every moment. Nitai’s companionship via Nitai Vayulekhan is our true solace.
The spiritual journey to Golok is supposed to be very difficult and long. They say that the path to Golok is full of thorns. But when we have Nitai Vayulekhan with us, we feel we are walking on flower petals. We don’t feel any fatigue while walking continuously on this path at a fast pace without any break. Nitai Vayulekhan is like an energy booster which does not let us get exhausted while we are walking on this path to Golok.
With the best Lord on our side and the highest process of Nitai Vayulekhan to defend us, we are fully prepared to face all kinds of challenges from Maya. We are fully confident that Nitai’s unbounded mercy will make us invincible in the midst of all tests and tribulations. Just like the Pandavas were able to defeat great unbeatable warriors during the war of Mahabharat with the support of Lord Krishna, we are also confident that Nitai Vayulekhan will surely make us victorious in the war against our greatest enemy, our own uncontrolled mind. And because it is Nitai and not Krishna, we don’t even need to be like the exalted Pandavas. Even if we will be like the Kauravas still Nitai won’t let us be defeated. Thus, there is no harm even if celebrate our victory in advance because once Nitai has entered our lives He won’t exit before dropping us to Golok. Joy Nitai. Joy Nitai Vayulekhan.

Jiva: Hey hi! Welcome back Nitai.
Nitai: How’s life?
Jiva: Life is boring.
Nitai: Why? I thought you were still celebrating.
Jiva: Celebrations are over. It was really not such a big thing.
Nitai: But at that moment it seemed the fulfillment of your greatest aspiration..
Jiva: Yes. The fact that I am promoted no longer excites me. I guess there was some truth in your old age stuff. I am realizing that nothing really lasts.
Nitai: There was not some truth but it was complete truth. You have realized only a part of it as yet.
Jiva: Why are you so confident about everything? As if you understand everything that goes around?
Nitai: As if?
Jiva: Yes. As if.
Nitai: (LOL) (Nitai doesn’t disappear. He has more to talk today)
Jiva: You are hilarious. Always so cheerful.
Nitai: I told you I have many names. Another prominent one is Nityananda.
Jiva: And what does Nityananda mean?
Nitai: One who is always in bliss.
Jiva: It sounds you are a drug addict. A drunkard.
Nitai: Haha! You remind me of Advait.
Jiva: Who is he?
Nitai: He is also a drunkard (Haha). A friend of mine. But people think we are not friends. As we are always fighting.
Jiva: It is so cool. But how can you be always in bliss even if you are a drunkard. Don’t you have a hangover?
Nitai: My drink is not any alcoholic beverage. I drink the nectar of concentrated love of Godhead. The greatest intoxicant which has no hangover or side effect.
Jiva: Ohh! Once again. You are back to love of Godhead.
Nitai: Ahh! Love of Godhead only makes me Nityananda.
Jiva: I also wish to become Nityananda.
Nitai: Haha!! O Jiva. One day you’ll also be Nityananda (eternally blissful). I promise.
Jiva: Ohh so nice of you. I also wish to rise above temporary happiness.
Nitai: Your wish is my command. I am always at your service Jiva. Never hesitate in asking anything. I won’t disappoint you.
Jiva: Wow! Now I understand. You are a genie.
Nitai: Yes. Sort of. But not the one who stays in a bottle. (LOL)
Jiva: You are really very mysterious. I wish to know more about you.
Nitai: Ohh then you can read Nityananda Charitamrita.
Jiva: Is it an auto-biography?
Nitai: Sort of.
Jiva: Sort of?
Nitai: Yes. I dictated and the author (Vrindavan das Thakur) wrote. (Haha)
Jiva: Why didn’t you write yourself?
Nitai: The author is very dear to me. I always want my dear ones to be glorified.
Jiva: That’s so nice of you. However, from your looks I can guess that you are not much literate that’s why you didn’t write yourself.
Nitai: Haha! Yes. You are right. Last time I studied in Dwapar Yug at Sandipani Muni’s Ashram only. In Kali Yug, right from my birth I was busy distributing the beverage of pure love. So no time to study. My brother did my share of studies as well and became a great scholar (Nimai Pandit).
Jiva: Your brother didn’t distribute love of Godhead?
Nitai: He incarnated for that only. But I don’t know why He wasted 19 years in studying logic and grammar. (Hahaha) Just kidding. He also distributed love of Godhead. But as per His mood. He is very moody. (LOL)
Jiva: You talk a lot about your brother. You love Him a lot I guess.
Nitai: He dearer to me than my own life.
Jiva: It seems you are unmarried. Such a strong bond between brothers doesn’t exist once they get married.
Nitai: Ohh no. You are wrong. I am married. Not once, but twice.
Nitai: What! Can’t I have two wives?
Jiva: No. I mean to say it is impossible for one to have two wives and still be Nityananda. How can you still be so joyful? What’s the secret?
Nitai: (LOL) Our entire family does Kirtan of the Lord together. That’s the secret. Every householder must do this. Then there will be no quarrels then. Only bliss.
Jiva: Hmm. Kirtan? I heard a family that eats together stays together.
Nitai: Yes they eat together. They stay together. And they fight together. (Hahaha)
Jiva: You speak as if you can see what takes place in every house.
Nitai: As if?
Jiva: Yes. As if.
Nitai: (LOL and disappears)
This world presents us a multitude of problems everyday. We are all undertaking a continuous struggle to ensure that we don’t fail in our quest of happiness. An absence of problems is generally perceived as happiness. But the fundamental nature of this material world is to present fresh problems one after another. If you solve one problem then another one is waiting in the ‘to-be-faced’ list. In short, attainment of stable happiness in this material world is far away from reality.
If there is too much chaos in one city then you can take refuge in another city. If there is excessive crime in one state then you can take refuge in another state. If there is a situation of ongoing war in one country then you can take refuge in another country. However, if one realizes that the whole material world is acutely problematic then what will you do? Obviously, you won’t be able to flee from this material world using any artificial means as it is not, by any means, possible. Don’t you think it would be best if there was a way of taking refuge in the blissful kingdom of God while still being here before we finally die?
You don’t get a Visa to the kingdom of God as long as you are not qualified. You may have the passport but you will not get the Visa so easily. But there is one personality (Nitai), one place (Ekachakra), and one process (Nitai Vayulekhan) that may help you enter God’s kingdom without any qualification. Nitai Chand is the only moon in Kali Yug which can reduce the pain in the form of heat in your heart and His Ekachakra Dham is the only sun in Kali Yug which can remove the anarthas in the form of darkness from your heart. And the effulgence of both, the sun and moon, will reach you by the process of Nitai Vayulekhan. Nitai Vayulekhan will only allow the moon (Nitai) to cool and the sun (Ekachakra) to illuminate.
samsarera para haiya bhaktira sagare
ye dubibe se bhajuka nitai candere
“A person who wishes to cross beyond the material world and then dive into the ocean of pure devotional service should worship Lord Nitai Chand.”
(Shri Chaitanya Bhagawat, Adi Khand, Chapter 17, Text 152)
And the best thing about Nitai Vayulekhan is that it allows you to transcend all kinds of problematic situations of this material world quite instantly. If this material world is like an ocean of miseries, in which you are drowning, then by doing Nitai Vayulekhan you will start floating on it immediately. You will no longer be tormented by the attacks of Maya as Nitai will stand by your side to defend you always. As soon as Maya will try to pull you down again in the ocean, Nitai ‘Vayu’lekhan will increase your Vayu (air) and keep you afloat without a trace of doubt. In other words, your fall downs will almost be reduced to nil. And even if you fall, in rare circumstances, you will get up swiftly without losing courage and hope. By writing निताइ in the air, you instantly become a refugee in the world of Nitai, where you will find stable happiness and freedom from all miseries. After all, stability of happiness is what every living entity is looking for.

Jiva: How can I forget you? Nobody can forget you.
Nitai: Ohh thanks for the compliment.
Jiva: It was not a compliment. I remembered you just because of your weirdness.
Nitai: Haha. Still thanks for remembering me. (You are already delivered because you didn’t forget me!) Well, what’s happening Jiva?
Jiva: Everything is going great. I got promoted.
Nitai: Congrats. Are you happy now?
Jiva: Yes. I am celebrating daily.
Nitai: For how many more days will you celebrate?
Jiva: I can’t you tell the exact number of days. Maybe a couple of more days. You always ask strange questions.
Nitai: And what after a couple of more days?
Jiva: Then life will continue normally like before.
Nitai: Hmm. I feel you deserve better quality of happiness. This kind of flickering happiness is not compatible with your design. (Soul seeks eternal happiness)
Jiva: My design?
Nitai: Yes. You are a spiritual particle of God known as a soul. And you are designed in a way that only spiritual happiness can truly satisfy you.
Jiva: From where do you hear all this old age stuff?
Nitai: What makes you think it is old age stuff?
Jiva: Mostly old people only listen to and discuss such things.
Nitai: Have you ever wondered why old people discuss all this?
Jiva: Yes. Because they don’t have anything else to pass their time.
Nitai: I feel they do so because they realize that all this only really matters based on their life’s experiences.
Jiva: Maybe. I don’t care.
Nitai: I just wanted to make you realize that you deserve much more than this. The happiness which I can give you is matchless.
Jiva: I feel odd when you start offering so much. Are you expecting something from me?
Nitai: No. Not at all. I told you I love you unconditionally. Remember?
Jiva: It simply doesn’t make sense. I don’t know why I am not able to appreciate your love claims.
Nitai: I wish you could. People are running after those who are not ready to offer anything for free. I’m ready to give you everything, including myself, but you are not ready to take.
Jiva: Oh Nitai! Don’t be sad! Don’t lose hope.
Nitai: My sorrow is borrowed (i.e., it is yours). And I have still not lost hope. I never give up on someone. If I will give up then who will save you. When I say ‘take me’, I actually mean it.
Jiva: What will you save me from?
Nitai: From my brother’s laws. (Haha)
Jiva: Your brother’s laws? Who is your brother?
Nitai: My brother is a cowherd boy. But He is very notorious for His strict laws. He also performs pastimes as a devotee in Navadvip.
Jiva: I am not afraid of the laws of a cowherd boy. You and your family seems completely insane.
Nitai: I know you are too egoistic to become subordinate to my Bro. That is why I have to interfere.
JIva: Why should I abide by His laws?
Nitai: Because your ultimate welfare lies in that. If you’ll abide by His laws then you’ll always be happy.
Jiva: It seems He also loves me ‘unconditionally’ like you do. (Laughs loudly)
Nitai: Yes His love for you is also ‘unconditional’ but only after a few ‘conditions’ are met.(Laughs louder than the Jiva)
Jiva: What! How can it be ‘unconditional’ then?
Nitai: Even I don’t get it. I have tried asking this question to Him many times. But He is always busy with His girlfriend(s).
Jiva: Oooooooo girlfriend. His laws must be fun I guess.
Nitai: His laws are fun only for Himself. For others, all this fun is not allowed. According to Him, He is the sole rightful illicit lover in the entire creation.
Jiva: What do you mean by ‘not allowed’? Is He the supreme controller?
Nitai: Yes, theoretically.
Nitai: Yes. Practically even He is controlled by His lovers.
Jiva: Then who is the ultimate controller of this creation?
Nitai: Love. Love of Godhead.
JIva: Ahh! Love of Godhead. I have heard people say, “God is love and love is God”.
Nitai: Yes. That’s true. Not ordinary love but love of Godhead. You have heard a lot now it is time to experience it.
Jiva: How can I experience it?
Nitai: Take me!
Jiva: Oh again you are trying to sell yourself. You are quite adamant.
Nitai: I can even beg you to take me.
Jiva: Your brother is the supreme daddy. Why do you need to beg?
Nitai: I cannot see the suffering of His lost sons who have forgotten Him.
Jiva: If we are His lost sons then He should come looking for us. Why do you have to do that?
Nitai: Because I know your pains much more than Him.
Jiva: You are saying as if you are incharge of the lost souls. As if you have taken a resolve to take us back to your brother.
Nitai: As if?
Jiva: Yes. As if.
Nitai: (COL) (Cries out loud and disappears)
Worthless disciple of Shrila Nitaipreshthji,
The highest form of ignorance (avidya) for a living entity is to consider transcendental personalities and objects as ordinary and mundane. We are not able to understand the transcendental nature of Hari, Guru, Vaishnavas, Their activities, the Holy Dhams, the Deities, and the Holy Names. We are always trying to impose our contaminated mundane conception on them. This is the real reason why we are still in the material world.
Lord Krishna tells Arjuna,
janma karma ca me divyam
evam yo vetti tattvatah
tyaktva deham punar janma
naiti mam eti so ‘rjuna
“One who knows the transcendental nature of My appearance and activities does not, upon leaving the body, take his birth again in this material world, but attains My eternal abode, O Arjuna.” (BG 4.9)
Thus, faith has such a crucial role to play. The value of faith should never be undermined. It is the most valuable asset of a practicing devotee, losing which, a devotee may lose the chance to go back to Godhead in this life. The billion dollar question is, “why are we not able to have the required faith?”
visvaso naiva jayate
“For those who have amassed very few pious activities, their faith in maha-prasad, in Sri Govinda, in the Holy Name and in the Vaishnavas is never born.” (Source: Mahabharat)
It is clear from the above verse that one must have a prior record of pious activities in bulk from one’s past lives in order to obtain this faith. But can we do anything about our past lives? No. So what is the solution to this problem. It is said that if we do not have the requisite sukriti then even if Krishna comes in front of us we won’t be able to recognize Him.
We do not have faith that is why we are not advancing. And because we are not advancing, in spite of our efforts, that is why we are not having faith. This seems a vicious circle. The Vaishnavas can increase our faith but we do not even have faith in the Vaishnavas. The scriptures may also increase our faith but once again we do not have faith in the scriptures. We are stuck in a terrible situation where nothing seems to remove our deficiency of faith.
Krishna further tells Arjuna,
raksasim asurim caiva
prakrtim mohinim sritah
Those who are thus bewildered are attracted by demonic and atheistic views. In that deluded condition, their hopes for liberation, their fruitive activities, and their culture of knowledge are all defeated. (BG 9.12)
Shrila Prabhupad writes something very important in the commentary on the above verse which must caution every devotee,
“There are many devotees who assume themselves to be in Kṛṣṇa consciousness and devotional service but at heart do not accept the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Kṛṣṇa, as the Absolute Truth. For them, the fruit of devotional service-going back to Godhead-will never be tasted.”
Thus, an atheist stands no chance of deliverance. And to some extent we all are atheists. Is there any Lord who is still ready to deliver us? Is there any Lord who is ready to have pity on us? Is there any Lord who is ready to accept the fact that neither we have transcendental faith nor the requisite sukriti to obtain that faith, and still accept us as His own? Yes. Only Nitai. Doyal Nitai.
pasandi o dekhilei matra kare stuti sarvasva dibare sei ksane haya mati
“Seeing Lord Nitai, even the blasphemers and atheists offered prayers to Him and yearned in their hearts to offer all they possessed to Him.” (Chaitanya Bhagawat, 3.5.358)
It is worth mentioning the commentary of Shrila Bhaktisiddhant Saraswati Prabhupad on the above verse,
“Those who consider transcendental Vishnu and Vaisnavas as equal to mundane objects or ordinary persons are called pasandis, or atheists. Even such godless people would offer respect to Nityananda Prabhu when they saw Him. By seeing the Supreme Lord, their mundane conceptions based on material enjoyment were vanquished. Therefore they ended up surrendering everything to the Lord. Those who surrender everything to the Supreme Lord do not see the external world as the object of their enjoyment, in other words, they become liberated souls.”
Thus, Nitai’s darshan does not need prior faith but the required faith is obtained by His darshan only. Faith continues to remain important. But in the case of Nitai there is no reason to worry. Nitai is so compassionate that He not only rewards us faith in Himself but also in Hari, Guru, Vaishnavas, Dhams, Harinam, etc. The darshan of pure devotees also builds up our faith. But if by mistake we commit some offense at their lotus feet then we are finished. There is no such fear with Nitai, because,
(emon, doyāl to nāi he, mār kheye prema dey)
“Oh! Such a merciful personality as Nitai is not to be found anywhere! He suffers a beating from Jagai and Madhai and still gives them the love of God!”
There is no difference between the Name of Nitai and Nitai Himself. Thus, the same applies for His Name as well. We can have Nitai’s darshan in the form of His Name syllables by the unique process of Nitai Vayulekhan. Don’t you think we must also increase everyone else’s sukriti by spreading Nitai’s Name and Nitai Vayulekhan as far as possible. That will be the greatest welfare activity that we can perform in this rare human form of life.
Moreover, all those who would never surrender to Krishna will surely surrender to Nitai. Who will never surrender to Krishna? Once again let’s hear from Krishna Himself regarding this,
na mam duskrtino mudhah
asuram bhavam asritah
“Those miscreants who are grossly foolish, lowest among mankind, whose knowledge is stolen by illusion, and who partake of the atheistic nature of demons, do not surrender unto Me.” (BG, 7.15)
As a matter of fact, Krishna is referring to all of us as we all fall in these categories only. Shrimad Bhagwatam states that people in Kali Yug are grossly foolish and elsewhere it is written that we all are born as shudras in Kali Yug. As far as knowledge is concerned we are taught only the illusory subjects in modern schools and colleges. So no hope of receiving transcendental knowledge. In short, we have really become atheistic in Kali Yug. Hence, people in general, do not even like to talk about Krishna. And even if they do take up the process of Krishna consciousness, very rarely does anyone surrender to Krishna genuinely. Surrender needs faith and faith is what we lack. Hence, unfortunate souls like us can only surrender to Nitai for He does not mind a deficiency of faith as He is always eager to remove it Himself.
Worthless disciple of Shrila Nitaipreshthji,
Srila Raghunatha Dasa Goswami was a devotee of the highest order. He serves Radha-Krishna as Rati Manjari in Golok Dham. He was fully detached from the material world right from a very early age. He eagerly wanted to renounce family life by leaving His home in order to join Gauranga Mahaprabhu as His associate. When he requested the same from Gauranga He was not given permission by the Lord.
Two years later, Nitai visited Panihati and stayed there for some time. When Raghunath Das Goswami heard of Nitai’s arrival He went to meet Him.
At Panihati, Das Goswami saw Nitai sitting on a rock under a banyan tree on the bank of the Ganges. He was surrounded by many servants and associates. He was hesitant to come near to the Lord and paid obeisances from a distance. However, some of Nitai’s devotees saw him and immediately informed Nitai of His arrival. Nitai called Him and said “Raghunatha dasa! You are hiding like a thief. Now I have caught hold of you. Come here. I shall punish you today.’’
prabhu bolāya, teṅho nikaṭe nā kare gamana
ākarṣiyā tāṅra māthe prabhu dharilā caraṇa
The Lord called him, but Raghunātha dāsa did not go near the Lord. Then the Lord forcibly caught him and placed His lotus feet upon Raghunātha dāsa’s head. (CC 3.6.48)
Moreover, He ordered Das Goswami to celebrate a big festival and serve all His devotees – yogurt and chipped rice (chida-dahi).
Raghunath das Goswami ordered his servants to make the necessary arrangements. The chida-dahi festival began and Nitai was very pleased to see that all His principal associates were now being served very nicely. Nitai was so happy that He decided to bring Gaur over there in meditation. And immediately Gaur arrived over there even though everybody could not see Him. When Gaur arrived Nitai fed Gaur with His own hands in a joking manner.
nityānanda-prabhāva-kṛpā jānibe kon jana?
mahāprabhu āni’ karāya pulina-bhojana
Who can understand the influence and mercy of Lord Nityānanda Prabhu? He is so powerful that He induced Lord Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu to come eat chipped rice on the bank of the Ganges. (CC 3.6.89)
After the successful completion of the mega festival, Raghunath das Goswami revealed the most confidential secret,
tomāra kṛpā vinā keha ‘caitanya’ nā pāya
tumi kṛpā kaile tāṅre adhameha pāya
“No one can attain the shelter of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu without Your mercy, but if You are merciful, even the lowest of men can attain shelter at His lotus feet.” (CC 3.6.131)
He said ‘no one’ can attain the shelter of Shri Gauranga Mahaprabhu without Nitai’s mercy. ‘No one’ means no one. No matter how much qualified or deserving one is, if one does not receive the Nitai’s mercy, attainment of Gaur Radha Krishna is impossible. Here, Shrila Raghunath das Goswami is saying that without Nitai’s mercy one cannot attain Gaur. And in one of his famous bhajans, Shrila Narrotam das Thakur writes that without Nitai’s mercy one cannot attain Radha Krishna. Also, in the Navadvip Dham Mahatmaya, Shrila Jiva Goswami says that one cannot attain Gaur even after hundred lives of Gaur bhajan if one does not receive the mercy of Nitai. All these proofs make it supremely clear that Nitai’s mercy is supremely essential for attaining Gaur Radha Krishna.
Further. he said that even the lowest of men can attain shelter at Gauranga’s feet if Nitai bestows His mercy. This is what we call ‘Kripa siddhi’. If Nitai wants He can give Gaur Radha Krishna to even the most unqualified. We all are dependent on this ‘Kripa siddhi’ as our only hope. As we know we are highly degraded, fallen, and unqualified to attain Gaur Radha Krishna. Nitai’s mercy is our only hope against all hope.
In the end, Nitai, who was very pleased with Raghunath das Goswami, gave him the benediction that he desperately needed.
CC Antya 6.142 — “Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu will accept you and place you under the charge of His secretary, Svarūpa Dāmodara. You will thus become one of the most confidential internal servants and will attain shelter at the lotus feet of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu.
CC Antya 6.143 — “Being assured of all this, return to your own home. Very soon, without impediments, you will attain shelter at the lotus feet of Lord Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu.”
As a result of Nitai’ blessings and service of Nitai’s cowherd boyfriends, Raghunath das Goswami could finally get out of his material entanglements and could engage himself completely in the service of the combined form of Radha Krishna, Shri Gaurasundar, without any further obstacle. His innermost desire was fulfilled by the mercy of Nitai only. The task of a Manjari is to unite Radha and Krishna. But Nitai performed an even higher task of uniting a Manjari with the combined form of Radha and Krishna (Gauranga). This is why Nitai is known as the last limit of mercy. His mercy is needed even by the eternal associates of Gaur Radha Krishna. Then what to speak of us?
