Drown in Bliss Everyday

bhakativinoda, kṛṣṇa-bhajane,
anakūla pāya jāhā

prati-dibase, parama-sukhe,
swīkāra koroye tāhā

So Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakur in his bhajana śuddha-bhakata-caraṇa-reṇu, he writes this concluding statement. kṛṣṇa-bhajane, anakūla pāya jāhā. Whatever he finds favorable to Krishna bhajan, everyday prati-dibase, parama-sukhe, with the greatest happiness, he accepts all those activities which are favorable to his bhajana, which are favorable to his bhakti. This is very important. For a devotee, the only goal is to enhance his bhajana quantitatively and qualitatively. The sadhna, bhakti, the seva everything should increase in terms of quantity and in terms of quality. Whatever you find favorable, you get smarana by doing Nitainam Lekhan, by doing Nitai Kirtana, hearing and reading, chanting, association, then do all these things with the greatest happiness. This is the only activity in which you should spend all your time.

Always remain engaged, especially when you are not in dhama, then you cannot waste a single moment, because you are unprotected. If you give up your body outside dhama and you are not even doing bhajana, smarana, if your consciousness is not fixed in the Lord, then you are in a very risky position. So outside dhama you should be more cautious that you do not waste a single moment. You should be very afraid of death. Any moment it may come and then you will waste this precious human life. In the dhama one is more secure, and in dhama bhajana becomes very easy also. But when you are outside dhama, you must be alert, very conscious. prati-dibase, not even a single day you should compromise with your bhajan, your sadhana, your remembrance, your seva, no compromise, there is no room for that because you are in a very very risky position.

So with great delight, with great happiness, parama-sukhe, you must engage yourself in Krishna bhajana and in everything that leads to quantitative and qualitative enhancement of your bhajana. Accept everything that is favorable and reject everything that is unfavourable, then everyday your bliss will increase in bhajana, you will get more and more steadiness and strength to say no to the temptations of maya because you will be drowning in the bliss. You will be actually getting the higher taste which will allow you to give up the lower taste.

And your nishtha for bhakti, your nishtha for the higher taste will reflect in your words, will be reflected in your acharana, your behavior, and others around you will also be inspired to perform bhakti because they’ll feel that you are getting some higher taste, then they will also start hankering for it. Start aspiring for it. They will also start chanting the Hare Krishna Mahamantra, doing Nitainam Lekhan and kirtana, because they will see you directly in so much bliss, pratyaksha, that they will also get inspired.

Vayulekhan and Nitai bhaktas are The Keys to Highest Mercy

  • When the least mercy is expected, Nitai surprises you by giving the highest.
  • Our consciousness just before we fall asleep, to a large extent, determines the consciousness that we are going to have just after we wake up in the morning. So Nitai Vayulekhan done just before sleeping actually prepares you to do it immediately after getting up in the morning.

Confidential Pastimes of Mala Tala and Nari Potha, Ekachakra

om ajñāna-timirāndhasyajñānāñjana-śalākayācakṣur unmīlitaṁ yenatasmai śrī-gurave namah.

So when that Sanyasi came to Ekachakra, he stayed in the house of Hadai Pandit and He asked Hadai to give Nitai. He asked Nitai directly. He said I want to take Nitai with me as a travelling companion. So Hadai Pandit, O pious Brahman please honour my request and give me Nitai. When Hadai Pandit heard this request, he could not tolerate the pain simply by imagining his life without Nitai. His heart was bursting with pain. He sat under the Peepal tree, he was chanting Harinam and out of great anxiety and pain when the Sanyasi took Nitai away with him. Hadai Pandit could not chant anymore on his beads, on his mala. He kept the mala on the branch of that Peepal tree. He could no longer chant Harinam without Nitai. The tree became famous as Mala Tala after that. After Hadai Pandit kept his Mala on it in viraha from Nitai, in separation from Nitai. This trees is a symbol of vipralambha, intense separation which a pure devotee feels from the Lord. This tree is also a proof of the fact that without Nitai no kind of Sadhan Bhakti is possible. Nitai is the very foundation of all kind of Sadhan Bhakti starting from Harinam Japa and kirtan. Harinam is the basis of all kinds of Sadhan in Kaliyuga.

Harer nama harer nama harer namaiva kevalam
kalau nasty eva nasty eva nasty eva gatir anyatha:
So without Harinam there is no gati in Kaliyuga, but the very foundation of Harinam is Nitai. So if Nitai is not there then nobody can take shelter of Harinam. This has been proved by Hadai Pandit who is an eternal associate but as soon as Nitai left Ekachakra, Hadai Pandit left his chanting beads, he was showing that without Nitai what is the purpose of Harinam, what is the basis of Harinam? Harinam is impossible without Nitai. This Mala Tala, this Peepal tree, this proves that Nitai is the only cause of Harinam.

Heno nitai bine bhai, radha-krsna paite nai.
Who can chant the pure holy names of Radha and Krishna, the yugal Brahma naam, Harinam without Nitai.

Joy Nitai! “Nari Potha” That place where the birth cord, the naval string of Nitai was buried under a Bakul tree. It is a very special place in Ekachakra. The naval string connects the foetus, the baby inside the womb with the mother’s body via the placenta and it is used for transferring oxygenated and nutrition rich blood from the mother’s body to the foetus and with this transfer the foetus grows inside the womb and finally it comes out as a baby. This entire process is symbolic of Nitai Vayulekhan, Nitai Gita shravan, Nitai Lila kirtan, Harinam Japa and kirtan. All this is food, nutrition, oxygen for the growth of Nitai Gaur Krishna consciousness and what is the umbilical cord? What is the Nari that connects or that transfers foods and oxygen? That is “faith”. This Nari is the faith which a devotee has in the Lord, in the process of bhakti. The more one does Nitai Vayulekhan, Nitai Lila shravan kirtan, Harinam Japa and kirtan with faith, the more the Nitai consciousness, the Gaur consciousness expands inside the heart. It expands more and more as it is receiving proper nutrition via the Nari, via faith, without faith such a transfer, such an expansion of Nitai consciousness or bhakti is impossible and finally the consciousness expands to such an extent that the Lord appears in front of us. Just like the child, the baby inside the womb grows to such an extent after receiving proper nutrition that it comes out of the womb and the mother can see it. Before it comes out the mother cannot see it but the mother can feel it. Similarly as long as the Lord doesn’t appear in front of our eyes we can still feel the presence of the Lord, the more our Nitai consciousness expands the more we can feel the presence of the Lord. Therefore we must meditate on Nari Potha, the Nari of Nitai in order to solidify our faith in the process of bhakti, in the lotus feet of Nitai, in Nitai Vayulekhan, in Harinam Japa and kirtan. With a solidified faith there are much more chances of God realisation, of Nitai Gaur and Radha Krishna realisation in this very life.
