The Greatest Fortune Is To Be In Dham

निताइ! When we are unable to handle the materialistic vibrations of this world, we take shelter of the Dhams. We find real solace in the Dhams. If there were no Dhams, it would have been so difficult for the devotees to survive in this material world. The Lord appears and then disappears. But the Dhams remain for delivering the conditioned souls by awarding them immense sukriti and for giving life to the devotees. Existence of Dhams in this material world is such a great blessing. It is the greatest good fortune for us. If there were no Dhams, where would we go? Where?

When someone leaves his body in the Dhams, he attains the highest destination as kripa-siddhi. How merciful! Who is behind all this? It is Nitai only, the most-caring father of all conditioned souls, who manifests in the form of the Dhams. He is the one who gives solace in the form of the Dhams. He is the one who gives protection in the form of the Dhams. He is the one who gives everyone a chance to attain kripa-siddhi by leaving the body in the Dhams. Who else can think so much about us? How can we be so ungrateful? How can we not realize and feel gratitude for Nitai’s supreme mercy in the form of the Dhams? निताइ

P.S. The greatest good fortune is to be in the Dham for even a single moment. That is the greatest happiness which can be attained by the jiva because this Dham is also Nitai. And Nitai is Nityananda. Being in dham means being with Nitai constantly. One can feel constant association of Nitai.

Selfless Pleasing Service to Hari, Guru, and Vaishnavas

  • If I try to fulfill my personal aspirations instead of selflessly serving the mission till the end of my life, then I would be highly ungrateful to Guru, Guru Paramapara, and Nitai.
  • Pleasing service of Guru and Vaishnavas is the highest siddhi which I desire life after life.
  • Service alone is not sufficient to please. Favorable service which is desirable by Hari, Guru, and Vaishnavs, is service proper.
  • Those who have irrevocable faith in the Guru Paramapara and Nitai will never feel alone and unprotected.

Proof : Nitai Vayulekhan Grants Harinam Siddhi

kabe ha’be bolo se-dina āmār

“When, O when, will that day be mine? When will you give me your blessings, erase all my offences and give my heart a taste [ruci] for chanting the pure holy name (suddha Harinam)?” (Vijnapti Song 1, Sharanagati, Shrila Bhaktivinod Thakur)

The aim of every devotee in our dhara is to be able to chant shuddha Harinam one fine day because nothing less than that lets one relish the transcendental fruit of Sri Krishna Prem. For chanting the pure holy name, it is mandatory to become free from all offenses and overcome one’s offensive mentality. Honestly, it is very depressing sometimes to realize that we are not able to chant the pure holy name despite of chanting for many years. Shrila Jagadanand Pandit suggests that one must chant the holy names in the association of pure devotees if one desires to chant purely.

yadi karibe kṛṣṇa-nāma sādhu-saṅga kara

bhukti-mukti-siddhi-vāñchhā dūre parihara

“If you want to chant the Name of Kṛṣṇa, then associate with sādhus

and leave behind the desires for enjoyment, liberation, and supernatural

power.” (Text 3, Chapter 7, Prem Vivarta)

The problem is that in Kali Yug it is very difficult to find such pure devotees, and hence, it is very difficult to chant suddha Harinam. Still, there is no need to lose hope. The solution is also provided by Shrila Jagadanand Pandit only in the same chapter:
sādhu pāoyā kaṣṭa baḍa jīvera jāniyā

sādhu-bhakta-rūpe kṛṣṇa āilā nadīyā

“Understanding that it is very difficult for a soul to find a sādhu,

Kṛṣṇa came to Nadia in the form of a pure devotee.” (Text 8, Chapter 7, Prem Vivarta)

gorā-pada āśraya karaha buddhimān

gorā vai sādhu guru āchhe ke vā āna [9]

O intelligent soul, take shelter at Gorā’s feet. What other sādhu or

Guru is there besides Gorā?

From this we can understand that because pure devotees are very rare in this age, Sri Krishna Himself came as Gaur in the form a Sadhu along with Balaram as Nitai. Thus, we can receive Their association by taking shelter of Their names, forms, qualities, pastimes, and abodes. Nitai and Gaur are the greatest Sadhus of Kali Yug and Nitai is especially affectionate towards the fallen souls as He forgives even the Vaishnav aparadhis and repeated offenders and sinners unlike Gaur. Thus, taking shelter of Nitai’s name, form, qualities, and pastimes, is of paramount importance if one wants to chant the pure holy name of Krishna.

As mentioned before, real success in spiritual life lies in offenseless chanting. We all are aware of the ten offenses but we are quite incapable of avoiding them. We do not even have to capacity to nullify the effect of the offenses which we have already committed till date. And if we will continue to chant Harinam while committing the ten offenses, we will never be able to attain Krishna Prem.

The pure name of Krishna is identical with Sri Krishna Himself. However Krishna’s name is more merciful and benevolent than Krishna. Similarly, there is no difference between Nitai’s name and Krishna’s name but still Nitai’s name is much more merciful than Krishna’s name as it considers no offenses and destroys all one’s offenses against Harinam in past, present, and future. Thus, if you will religiously do Nitai Vayulekhan (airwriting of Nitai’s holy name) everyday then you will attain unimaginable progress in Harinam Japa and Kirtan as the ten offenses will no longer be able to obstruct the descent of Prema from Golok.

“I am singing news of the greatest happiness! At the place known as Surabhi Kunja in Shri Navadvipa, the Marketplace of the Holy Name has now been opened—and Lord Nityananda Himself is the Proprietor.” (Text 1, Dalalera Gita, Vaishnava-Siddhanta-Mala)

If even after many years of chanting, you feel that you are not able to progress in Nam bhajan, and this realization makes you sad, then you need not worry anymore, Shrila Bhaktivinod Thakur has brought a wonderful news. In this age of startups, Nitai has also opened a marketplace where the rarest and most valuable commodity is sold, that is, the pure holy name of Krishna (suddha Harinam). Nitai is the sole proprietor of this marketplace and He is selling the commodity in bulk. As per the Acharyas and verdict of the Bhakti shastras, Krishna’s name is the only reality in this material world apart from the soul.

“Nothing is like the holy name in this world of birth and death. The holy name is the greatest treasure in Lord Krishna’s treasure-house.

“In this world of birth and death the individual souls and Lord Krishna’s holy name alone are real. All else is temporary and made up of matter.

(Text 34 & 35, Chapter 2, Hari Nam Chintamani)

Shrila Haridas Thakur reveals that the pure holy name is the greatest treasure in Lord Krishna’s treasure-house. Astonishingly, this greatest treasure which Krishna keeps hidden so carefully, is being distributed by Nitai just for the price of one’s faith in Nitai.

boro mojar katha tay

shraddha-mulye shuddha-nama sei hatete bikay

“Such wonderful things are going on in that blissful marketplace! Shri Nityananda Prabhu is selling the pure Holy Name wholesale, merely for the price of one’s faith.” (Text 2, Dalalera Gita, Vaishnava-Siddhanta-Mala)

How will you show Nitai that you have faith in Him? We cannot simply tell Nitai, “I have faith in you.” It is said that actions speak louder than words. Thus, our faith in Nitai must be reflected in our actions. For this, one simply needs to write the name of Nitai in air with the help of one’s finger. This process is known as Nitai Vayulekhan. It is a great way to practically demonstrate our faith in Nitai which makes us truly qualified to purchase the pure holy name from Nitai.

If you simply claim that you have faith in Nitai then it does not necessarily imply that you have real faith in Nitai, Nitai’s name (sonic representation of Nitai), or Nitai Nam Akshar Parabrahma (syllable representation of Nitai). However, if you diligently do Nitai Vayulekhan, then it certainly implies that you have faith in Nitai, Nitai’s name, and Nitai Nam Akshar Parabrahma (written form).

Thus, without further ado, fly to Nitai’s marketplace by Nitai Vayulekhan and purchase the pure holy name of Krishna before it gets too late.

Note: There may be other markets of pure Harinam as well but no other proprietor would be willing to sell it simply for the price of one’s faith like Nitai. Other proprietors will quote such a high price that it will certainly go beyond your budget. So, it would be better if you consider buying it from Nitai’s market only.
